Fresh, Fun Portsmouth Virginia Wedding Part One and a book contest winner!

First Up, we have a winner for last week’s book contest.  Thanks so much for your patience.  I was vacationing on Bald Head Island, and had no idea the cottage we were at would have such baaaaad reception.  I literally had to get on a golf cart (no cars on Bald Head) and drive to the woods to make a phone call.  Which would be funny if it weren’t so frustrating.  I auto dated the first two blog posts for last week and figured I would do my ‘Happy Friday’ and start Holly and Kevin’s wedding from the island.  Fat chance.  The internet was so slow it would have been an impossibility.  So to play catch up, congratulations The Girl Tyler!  Email me your address and I’ll have the book mailed to you pronto. xxoo.  I have a new drawing next week on some gently used treasures from my own library (recycling, you see : ) including Jasmine Stars magazine, and a book on commercial photography I have found very useful.

 

On to the most important part of this post!  Holly and Kevin’s gorgeous wedding took place at Holly’s family home in Portsmouth, Virginia.  The house is situated on a peninsula with water views on three sides.

Loved the yellow bridesmaid’s dresses.  A poignant first look before the days festivities begin.  I love first looks for a lot of reasons, but mainly because we have time to really relax and take lots of lovely shots.Holly’s house had so  many fantastic spots for photos.

Gorgeous bridesmaids and bride.Holly ordered every bridesmaid a different purse from Etsy.  Inside each was an embroidered message from Holly.

I don’t think I mentioned yet that Emily Weddings coordinated this event.  Spectacularly.  

The ceremony was down a hill on the water.  Lovely spot, lovely light.
