Happy Friday!
This is a series of portraits taken by the brilliant Echard Wheeler. I call them anti-portraits, as they reveal people with no artifice, no ‘camera face’ smile (we all have one) , and no retouching. Shot medium format, on film, they are a type of true character study. There’s a special bravery required to bare all (figuratively) in front of the camera. I’m in the center, keeping company with the Chrysler’s Charlotte Potter and glass god Benjamin Moore. Echard would be happy to make one of these fine art pieces for you. I think they would make an interesting alternative to the typical engagement session or family portrait.

Summer’s almost here and these look yummy!
Speaking of summer, these make me smile.
Last week I showed you my ombré staircase. Here is a stunning transformation and a similar concept on Design Sponge.
Years ago I took a bookbinding and paper marbling class. Here is a really succinct description of the bookbinding process, with good photos.
Next week I plan to have a drawing for a photography book give away : ) Time to clear out the shelves, and a lot of really great like new books have got to go. Stay tuned!
Have a great weekend. I’ll be in Portsmouth shooting a wedding at a Private home. The weather is going to be perfect : ) xo-e
